But the competition isn't the only thing that heats up. Cole and Storee's fake relationship becomes very real, and before they know it, they're attempting to hide it from Aunt Cindy. Things get complicated, the competition gets tough, and all it takes is one single night for someone to steal it all…

If you love watching The Grinch every Christmas, you’ll adore How My Neighbor Stole Christmas! This fun, spicy reimagining of the classic Grinch tale takes place in Kringletown, a town where Christmas is celebrated year-round. The highlight of the season? The annual Christmas Kringle contest, where everyone competes for the title of the town’s most Christmas-spirited person. It’s got that Grinch-y vibe that will keep you grinning!
The story follows Storee, who returns to Kringletown to help her aunt Cindy recover from a broken hip. But Aunt Cindy has other plans—she insists Storee enter the Christmas Kringle contest on her behalf, and soon, Storee is reluctantly in the running. When she crosses paths with Cole, a former friend who holds a grudge, he decides to enter the contest too, determined to make sure she doesn’t win.
What makes this book so fun is how it blends Christmas magic with a playful twist. The witty narrator at the start of every chapter delivers hilarious poems that had me laughing out loud. The characters are charming, with names that nod to The Grinch. The Kringle contest brings plenty of competitive sparks between Storee and Cole, making for some entertaining moments.
And let’s not forget the spice. The candy cane scene? It's as sweet and cheeky as you'd expect, adding a flirty layer to the story that keeps things fun.
If you’re looking for a lighthearted, festive read to get you in the Christmas spirit, How My Neighbor Stole Christmas is a must. I’ll definitely be revisiting it next holiday season, and I can’t wait to see if the author has more Christmas tales up their sleeve!
